From the seaside town of Southport, Womenswear designer Annabelle Howard’s home has played a large part in her graduate collection, after using her placement year as time out for mental health recovery. She describes her collection as sustainable athleisure wear made from towels and Lycra. ‘I love towels from the nostalgia they give me of home and holiday, to the feel and finishings.’ Lockdown prompted Annabelle to return home, allowing for her collection to be made in the very place that helped inspire it, as well as enabling her to film on Southport’s sandy beaches. ‘I always wanted to film here. My mum modelled for me and my dad is a builder, so he built my bags out of his builder advertisement boards.’
