‘One day I saw an image of a Ukrainian child wearing a pretty dress, holding balloons in a parade, with a grumpy face. I love that children think and act how they want, without being aware of their surroundings or the eyes of others.’ Dahee Kim is a 24 year old designer producing her final collection in Seoul, South Korea. A student on the Fashion Print pathway, and having spent her placement year with Kenzo in Paris, bold colours and prints are a constant source of excitement for Dahee. Her collection radiates a childlike innocence, as she reimagines the standardised and often oppressive school uniform through the mind of a child, unearthing a peculiar beauty from the dichotomy. Through an infantile imagination, a Dahee discovers boundless world of self-expression in the face of confinement.
