After taking the Fashion Folio short-course at Central Saint Martins, the 29 year old Chilean designer Stephanie Uhart was offered a place on the BA Fashion Knitwear program. Altered Perceptions is the title of her graduate collection, the designer’s personal experience with meditation and hypnotherapy. Stephanie explores how the different emotional journeys that we, as human beings, go through can change the way we feel within our own bodies and the way we perceive them. The line-up consists of four looks, representing different stages and moments of the designer’s introspective journey. ‘We are more energy and less matter, the more we connect to that feeling the more our bodies start to physically feel that way. Altered Perceptions is an attempt at reconnecting the body and its energy, giving form to things that are always treated as conceptual, visualising what I have no image for.’
