Viktorija Kozorezova is a Russian womenswear designer based in London, where she is graduating from Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in June 2020. She gained experience working for AF Vandevorst in Antwerp, assisted backstage for MM6 Maison Margiela, and trained as a stylist’s assistant at Another Man. Viktorija holds her practice as the intersection between dressmaking and styling. ‘The character I created for my graduate collection shows a futuristic anxiety, the chaotic emotions women are going through whilst the world is falling apart. They do not give up elegance to disappear, picture Carrie Bradshaw wearing a slip dress in the year 2666. The aesthetic I aim to follow is post-apocalyptic but celebrated with a glass of martini.’ Viktorija describes her collection and its representation in a utopian future. The woman she dresses comes full circle in her time of hardship, she becomes the divine archetype of a scorpion goddess: ‘In this new time, a scorpion becomes a symbol of a woman’s empowerment and her sacred animal.’
