BA Fashion Design with Marketing designer Callum Maunder’s graduate collection is an ode to his teenage memories. Inspired by nights when he would sneak out with his friends to squat parties in London, he makes reference to the white lies of his whereabouts, characters that he met and the late nights they endured. Alongside elements of hiking and outdoor wear, there is a key focus on detail with contrast stitching, exposed seams and fabric draped with visible dressmakers’ pins all intrinsic to the collection. Maunder is able to skilfully combine this with clean-cut tailored garments and distressed, anarchic knits.

The past year has given the 26 year old the ideal opportunity to hone in on his love for knitting. He first learned to hand knit as a small child and later taught himself to machine knit in his second year at Central Saint Martins – which proved vital for the creation of his final line-up. He previously interned at Rokh and in the knitwear design department of Acne Studios, which he credits with developing his knowledge of textiles and teaching him how to tell a visual story through a collection.
