Catherine Seo is a 2021 graduate from BA Fashion Womenswear Central Saint Martins. Her collection, titled in the infinity of aloneness, speaks about emotional struggles coming through the time being alone and the conflicting feeling of isolation being both inspiring and equally feeling disconnected from the world. She visualises solitude and has transferred it to the well-considered, beautiful clothing that retains a sense of history and stillness. Throughout her process she realised the importance between fashion and emotion. As a very sensible person, feeling, emotion and surroundings are built in and the hope for people to feel comfortable and safe in the clothing is paramount. Collection details include a spiral draping armhole cardigan with macrame buttons inspired by slouchy posture, a bleached velvet floral shirt developed from old faded out wallpaper, twisted draped trousers, a draped pin-tuck blouse, a bleached inverted pleat skirt, side-twisted trousers and a scarf hat.
