South Korean Knitwear designer Eunna Cho dreams of swans, skies, and stars. An admirer of fellow Central Saint Martins alumni John Galliano and Alexander McQueen, she was inspired by artists such as Swedish abstract painter Hilma af Klint, American futuristic sculptor Matt McConnell and Swiss sculptor Laetitia Florin. Cho wanted her final collection to explore the contrast between the vastness of space, and the feeling of being trapped.

Using the Deneb star found in the swan-shaped Cygnus constellation as a starting point, she explored various ways of deconstructing geometric and asymmetrical lines. Interested in fashion for as long as she can remember, Eunna completed the fashion and textiles course at Central Saint Martins before embarking on her Bachelor’s journey. Working on her final collection remotely from her home in Seoul was difficult at times, but she feels proud of her work, as she was able to overcome the obstacles in her way. ‘I did everything I wanted to do, such as photography, directing, and editing video,’ she adds, sharing that she’s excited about the future. She plans to find work with existing brands in South Korea first, and hopes to launch her own brand in the next few years.
