Harris Reed is a 24 year old creative tour de force. Originally from Los Angeles, the globe-trotting diva has called over 30 places home, the most recent of which being Italy, where they interned at Gucci under the watchful eye of Alessandro Michele. ‘I’ve always looked at clothing as not only armour, but a way to express yourself and challenge what people think,’ says Reed, whose designs have been picked up by the likes of Harry Styles and Solange. Their speciality is the spectacle of performance, using outlandish tailoring and billowing silhouettes to spark conversations on identity, acceptance and fluidity in fashion. For their graduate collection, Thriving In Outrage, Reed looks to the queer extravagance of 17th century socialite Henry Paget, transposing the Lord’s hedonistic life of luxury with the sexy, resplendent and gender-bending oeuvre of the 70s.
